Each membership type in organisations can have a joining fee applied. To setup go into your organisation > Setup > Membership Types. Click on the edit button for the membership type or create a new type. Set a Joining Fee cost. 
This applies only to new members joining the organisation.
The joining fee will be applied as a charge and is viewable in the discounts section and on invoices.
Members who are not renewed but are re-joining will not be affected. To apply a joining fee to them: – Move them into a new membership type e.g renewing after lapsing – Set the price to include the fee – After payment move them back to the old membership type.
